ultralight binocular with new prism coatings and a magnesium body.
The new Ultravid line of binoculars
have significant improvements over the existing Trinovids, all of which
will be welcomed! All 42mm and 50mm models are available in a choice of
black or green rubber armouring, but the 8x42 and 10x42 are also available
in black leather. The new body shell is made of lightweight but sturdy
magnesium, and is about one cm shorter than the current BN range. The
hinge shaft has been replaced with a new light weight titanium version.
The prisms are also coated with the new Leica Highlux System, which is
a newly developed mirror layer. This increases light transmission considerably,
and in addition, the improved optical and mechanical configuration markedly
reduces stray light. Naturally, these binoculars are dry nitrogen filled,
waterproof to 5m and have a close focus of 2m. These and other sophisticated
refinements quickly make it obvious why the Ultravid line represents a
new class of binocular. |

LEICA ULTRAVID BR 50 series - ready for any light conditions. Those who must also rely on images with rich contrast, even in extremely poor lighting conditions, will always make the right choice with a model from the line with 50 mm front lenses. The 50mm models - which also feature the Leica HLS™ - achieve an image brightness that was hardly possible before now, even with greater front lenses. |

LEICA ULTRAVID 8 x 50 BR Fatigue-free observation made possible, even under the subtle light of the moon. The 8 x magnification guarantees a steady, sharp image, without the need for constant refocusing. |

LEICA ULTRAVID 10 x 50 BR The high-transmission, top-of-the-line binocular. Thanks to its superb twilight performance, observation of fine details is possible well into darkness. |
||
LEICA ULTRAVID 12 x 50 BR Its 12 x magnification makes the observation of the finest details possible at great distances. This highperformance binocular is also impressive because of its near focusing distance of only 3.25 m (10.7 ft). |

| HighLux
System (HLS™) - or : An optical coating that is unequalled. The proverbial
Leica high-performance optics sets new standards with the HighLux System
HLS™: By means of a special mirror layer on the prism system that
yields a level reflection of 99.5 %, it was possible to raise the image
brightness significantly. That is what makes the impressively high imaging
performance and enhanced contrast possible.
